Riga Ball Academy 2016
Before the first Riga Ball, which took place on September 17, 2016, at the House of Blackheads in Riga, the project organizers invited guests and all interested parties to attend an informative training event to prepare for the first such cultural event in Riga.
Seminars, lectures and workshops, led by experts in various fields, took place on September 7 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Pullman Riga Old Town Hotel.
Why?
Riga Ball Academy was founded to position a culture of sophisticated behavior, manners and etiquette in society, as well as to popularize the ball traditions in Latvia.
We hope that the organized events, which will include social gatherings with lectures, seminars and workshops on various cultural topics and ball traditions, will bring together all like-minded people.
And not just that!
Riga Ball Academy guests will have the opportunity to meet business people, patrons, politicians, art and culture representatives from all over the world, as well as to attend various cultural events both in Latvia and abroad.
Professor Thomas Scheffer Elmayer, head of the most famous dance school in Austria and author of nine books on European etiquette, said: “Respect for ballroom manners is no less important than the steps of the Viennese waltz, how the partner invites to dance is a part of the culture. We treat it as a treasure. There are no analogues in the world of Viennese ballroom traditions. ” Riga Ball Academy is based on respect for these traditions, which are so important to preserve and develop today.
The ball itself is an example of cultural behavior in society, but ballroom dancing is mentioned in every book on etiquette and code of conduct in society. All the knowledge and skills that will be acquired at Riga Ball Academy events will help you feel more confident and secure during the ball. Knowledge is power!
