The first annual Riga Ball took place on September 17, 2016 at the House of Blackheads in Riga, Latvia.
Why is it special?
Riga Ball is an unforgettable cultural event. Riga Ball 2016 was the first annual ball organized by Royal Events in Riga. Latvian singer Nataly Tumševica and ballroom dancer Vyacheslav Vishnyakov have teamed up to create this grand event in the best traditions of the Vienna ball.
The Vienna Ball traditionally is one of the most vivid and colorful reminiscences of its far-off era with unique, wonderful composers, as well as elite gatherings and ladies’ luxurious outfits. More than 120 years have passed, but the Vienna Ball still holds a very important place in European cultural life.
Riga Ball 2016 took place in one of the most popular and beautiful buildings in the Baltic States, in the very heart of the Republic of Latvia – Riga. The rich interior of the House of Blackheads helped create the unforgettable atmosphere of a 20th century ballroom.
Charity
The official part of the ball consisted of a lottery, with the proceeds being channeled into charity campaigns: support for young Latvian music and support for ballroom dance training in orphanages.
